Oman Air celebrates new academic year with students

Alif International School Riyadh launched a “Students Charity Chest” on the International Charity Day. The school observed the Charity Day on Sept. 5 with a variety of programs such as tableaux, skits  and speeches, to instill the joy of giving among the children.

Each student of the school will contribute SR1 every month to the charity chest. The collection will be used to help the needy members of society.

“Charity should be an important lesson that everyone should learn in their childhood and the school promotes charity activities among students, who volunteered to collect funds from teachers and other students, to hand over to the needy,” Principal Mohammed Musthafa said.

Luqman Pazhur, school director, said the students offered help to the Rohingya Muslim refugees by distributing food and amenities among them. They also visited deportation camps and labor camps in Riyadh to offer help and support.

“The social commitment of these little hearts is highly appreciable,” he said.

Vice Principal Dr. Daisamma Jacob and Headmaster Noushad attended the program, which was organized by the headmistress Hameeda Banu.
