Hotel Local Debuts in Dubai’s JVT, Redefining Community-Focused Hospitality

Hotel Local, a 579-room lifestyle property, has opened its doors in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Triangle , marking a strategic collaboration between UAE-based The First Group and US developer Hoque Global. Positioned as a community-centric hotel, the venture aims to blend hospitality with local engagement and experiential living.

The launch of Hotel Local signifies a broader expansion plan, with additional properties anticipated across the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The hotel’s concept is rooted in inclusivity and aims to serve as a social hub for both residents and visitors.

Rob Burns, CEO of The First Group, described the initiative as more than traditional accommodation. He stated, “Hotel Local is more than just a place to stay; it’s a vibrant social hub where guests and locals come together to connect, create, and experience Dubai in an authentic and immersive way.”

The First Group, established in 2005, has a portfolio that includes several properties under its hospitality brand, The First Collection. These properties have attracted a diverse international clientele, contributing to Dubai’s status as a leading global destination.

Dubai’s hospitality sector has experienced significant growth, with over 2,700 new hotel rooms added in the first half of 2024. The city’s total number of hospitality establishments reached 716, offering nearly 149,750 rooms. This expansion aligns with Dubai’s strategic objectives to enhance its tourism infrastructure and accommodate increasing visitor numbers.
