Dubai Implements Extensive Security Measures for 2025 New Year's Eve Festivities

Dubai authorities have unveiled a comprehensive security and organizational plan to ensure public safety during the 2025 New Year's Eve celebrations. The strategy includes deploying over 8,500 police officers, 1,145 patrols, marine rescue boats, and Civil Defence vehicles across the city. The city will be divided into four operational sectors—North, Central, West, and Maritime—to streamline safety measures and enhance public services.

The celebrations will feature fireworks displays at 36 locations, including iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Global Village, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, Atlantis The Royal, Al Marmoom Oasis, Expo City, Dubai Frame, and Dubai Design District. To manage the anticipated influx of visitors, special tents will be set up in Downtown Dubai, offering services like lost-and-found, first aid, and logistical support.

Public transport services will be significantly enhanced. The Dubai Metro's Red and Green lines will operate continuously for 43 hours, starting from 5:00 AM on December 31, 2024, until midnight on January 1, 2025. The Dubai Tram will also run for 43 consecutive hours, beginning at 6:00 AM on December 31, 2024. Additionally, 260 buses, including 20 double-deckers, will facilitate movement to key locations. To accommodate increased traffic, 900 additional parking spaces will be available at Al Wasl Club and Al Jaffiliya, with shuttle buses operating from 3:00 PM.

Traffic management plans include road closures in key areas. Al Asayel Street from Oud Metha Road to Burj Khalifa will close from 4:00 PM, along with Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street, depending on parking availability. Lower Financial Centre Street will also close at 4:00 PM, while Upper Financial Centre Street and Al Sukook Street will shut down at 8:00 PM. Guests with bookings in these areas are advised to arrive before the closures.

Dubai Municipality will deploy 2,776 workers to ensure cleanliness, food safety, and park management. This includes 242 supervisors and 2,534 sanitation workers, supported by 246 vehicles. Inspections will be conducted at malls, hotels, restaurants, and event sites to maintain public health standards. Special teams will secure public parks, recreational areas, and beaches, with lifeguards on duty, particularly at night. Round-the-clock operations will ensure cleanliness at event sites.

Dubai Civil Defence will deploy 1,097 firefighters and 123 advanced vehicles across five sectors. Inspections of 257 critical facilities have ensured compliance with safety standards. Additionally, 500,000 safety messages will be sent to attendees via SMS, urging compliance with safety guidelines.
