Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Opens CMA Terminals Khalifa Port
Khalifa Port, one of the UAE's most significant infrastructure projects, has undergone a transformative expansion, marked by the inauguration of CMA Terminals by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This event underscores the port's strategic role in advancing the UAE’s position as a global trade and logistics hub. The inauguration aligns with broader efforts to enhance the region's economic diversification and global connectivity.
CMA Terminals is a collaboration with the global shipping and logistics leader CMA CGM Group. The facility is part of a AED 4 billion investment in the port's development, which has expanded its area to 8.63 square kilometers and extended its quay wall to 12.5 kilometers. The terminal is expected to significantly boost Khalifa Port’s container handling capacity to over 15 million TEUs annually by 2030. With these advancements, Khalifa Port now ranks among the world's top deep-water ports, serving over 70 international destinations.
