UAE Aerospace Expands with Mubadala and Safran Partnership
Mubadala Investment Company's aerospace unit, Sanad, has entered into a significant partnership with Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace. The collaboration focuses on enhancing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, widely used in Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This agreement positions Sanad as the first certified LEAP MRO service provider in the SAMENA region, further solidifying Abu Dhabi's role as a global aviation hub.
The agreement, signed during the Paris Air Show, marks Safran's inaugural partnership with Sanad and underscores the UAE's strategic efforts to develop its aerospace sector under the Operation 300bn initiative. With LEAP engines renowned for their fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, the partnership aligns with decarbonization goals in aviation. Mansoor Janahi, CEO of Sanad, highlighted the deal's importance in broadening the company's technical capabilities and supporting its long-term growth strategy.
