GITEX and Expand North Star Drive AI's Global Growth with $2.7 Trillion Vision for 2032

GITEX GLOBAL and Expand North Star, Dubai’s premier tech events, are shaping the future of the AI economy with ambitious growth projections. These events, part of Dubai’s drive to establish itself as a global leader in technology and innovation, are set to play a pivotal role in the expansion of artificial intelligence, with the global AI market anticipated to reach $2.7 trillion by 2032.

Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14-18 October 2024, GITEX GLOBAL, now in its 44th year, will gather over 6,500 exhibitors and 200,000 tech executives from 180 countries. The event promises to spotlight cutting-edge AI developments, cybersecurity trends, and industrial digital transformation efforts. Central to this year’s edition is the emphasis on AI Everything Global, scheduled to take place in 2025 across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This initiative aims to bring together the most visionary companies to build a future-ready, responsible AI industry.

A major highlight of GITEX GLOBAL is its role in fostering the next generation of startups and entrepreneurs. Expand North Star, the world’s largest startup event, will connect founders with venture capitalists and global investors managing assets worth over $1.2 trillion. Participants will include heavyweights like Bessemer Ventures, Sinovation Ventures, and the European Innovation Fund. The event underscores Dubai’s commitment to bolstering innovation and entrepreneurship, offering an influential platform for collaboration between startups and established enterprises.

Another key element is the Supernova Challenge 2.0, which will see startups competing for a share of the $200,000 prize pool. This initiative underscores the event's mission to fast-track tech innovation and establish a robust startup ecosystem in Dubai.

In addition to startups, GITEX will host high-profile discussions on blockchain, cybersecurity, and fintech innovations. The GITEX Cyber Valley exhibition, backed by the UAE Cyber Security Council, will focus on addressing the escalating threat of global cybercrime, with damage costs projected to reach $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. The event will attract prominent leaders from around the world to discuss strategies and solutions for tackling cyber risks.

The event's international scope is expanding significantly this year, with more than 400 government and digital development agencies in attendance, marking the largest international involvement in GITEX’s history. The event will feature participation from new entrants such as Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and several Southeast Asian nations like Malaysia and Kazakhstan. Latin American and European countries are also expected to make their presence felt, underscoring GITEX's reputation as a truly global platform.

Apart from fostering international cooperation, GITEX will provide a stage for tech giants and innovators like Huawei, Sony, Honda, and MIT to exchange insights and ideas. The event will also feature a special showcase of unicorns, including notable companies like DeepL, Axelera, and Synthesis AI. Their participation reflects the growing importance of AI in driving industrial intelligence and transforming global markets.
