Ricoh solidified its position as a sustainability leader in the region after being named to the prestigious FT-Statista Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders list for the third year running. The announcement, made on June 19, 2024, highlighted Ricoh's continued commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.

This year, Ricoh secured an impressive 27th place overall ranking out of 350 participating companies. Even more noteworthy was the company's performance within its sector. Ricoh ranked a commendable 8th place among the 70 technology and electronics businesses assessed.

The FT-Statista Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders list recognizes companies headquartered in the Asia-Pacific region that have demonstrably reduced their core emission intensity. This metric considers greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions relative to a company's revenue. The 2024 rankings assessed emission reductions between 2017 and 2022.

Ricoh's consistent inclusion on the list reflects the company's dedication to achieving its ambitious sustainability goals. In 2017, Ricoh set a target to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 63% and Scope 3 emissions by 40% by 2030, compared to fiscal 2015 levels. These targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are aligned with the ambitious 1. 5°C goal of the Paris Agreement.

Demonstrating a heightened commitment to sustainability, Ricoh accelerated its progress in March 2024. The company ambitiously pushed forward its goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity use by ten years, from 2050 to 2040.
