NMDC Energy to Invest $100 Million in New Modular Fabrication Facility at KEZAD
Abu Dhabi, UAE- In a move that will boost the UAE's oil and gas sector, Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group and NMDC Energy, a subsidiary of National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), signed a 50-year lease agreement today. The agreement paves the way for a new $100 million, 224, 000-square-meter modular fabrication facility to be built within KEZAD.
This strategic partnership will provide significant benefits to the regional oil and gas industry. NMDC Energy's new facility will offer a comprehensive suite of services, including world-class engineering, procurement, project management, fabrication, installation, and commissioning, all under one roof. This will streamline operations and enhance efficiency for project owners and operators.
The project is expected to create an estimated 3, 000 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local workforce.

NMDC Energy brings a wealth of experience to the table. The company already operates advanced fabrication facilities in Abu Dhabi, boasting an annual production capacity of 100, 000 tonnes of structural steel across a sprawling 1. 3 million square meters. Additionally, they are expanding their regional footprint with a new 450, 000-square-meter fabrication yard under development in Ras Al Khair Port, Saudi Arabia, with a projected capacity of 60, 000 tonnes per year by 2026. Their impressive fleet of 22 offshore vessels equipped with modern facilities allows them to support shallow and deep-water operations, including lifting structures weighing up to 4, 200 tonnes and laying subsea cables and pipelines in depths ranging from 10 to 2, 000 meters.
The signing ceremony took place at the Make It In The Emirates Forum, a forum organized by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). This annual event serves as a valuable platform for the global and local industrial community to connect, exchange knowledge, and explore investment opportunities within the UAE's industrial sector.
