Accor Announces New Novotel Property for Egypt's Booming North Coast

Accor, a leading hospitality group, has unveiled plans to expand its presence in Egypt with the development of a brand new Novotel hotel on the country's picturesque northern coast. The establishment, named Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman, is slated to open its doors in 2027, catering to the growing demand for modern and accessible accommodation in this blossoming tourist destination.

This strategic move by Accor capitalizes on the significant transformation of Egypt's north coast. Once primarily a domestic getaway, the region has witnessed a surge in development, attracting international travelers seeking a sun-drenched escape. The Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman will be ideally situated within the well-established Q North development, placing it in close proximity to the luxurious Marassi resort.

The hotel's design promises a low-rise structure that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape. Guests can expect to unwind in 240 spacious and contemporary rooms, each thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing haven. To cater to a variety of preferences, the hotel will boast an array of dining options, including a restaurant, cafe, pool bar, and a rooftop bar offering stunning vistas of the Mediterranean Sea.

Beyond its focus on comfortable accommodations and delectable cuisine, Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman prioritizes guest wellbeing and entertainment. A state-of-the-art fitness center and a luxurious spa will be available for those seeking rejuvenation, while an inviting outdoor swimming pool provides a refreshing escape. The hotel also embraces the region's growing passion for padel, a racquet sport similar to tennis, by incorporating dedicated padel courts within its premises.

For the more adventurous traveler, the beachfront location unlocks a world of water sports, allowing guests to partake in exhilarating activities directly from the hotel's doorstep. Recognizing the needs of business travelers, Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman will feature a dedicated meeting space spanning 600 square meters, making it an ideal venue for conferences and events.

The new Novotel's accessibility is another key advantage. Situated just minutes away from Alexandria Borg el Arab International Airport, the hotel is conveniently reachable within an hour and a half by car. For those arriving from Cairo, the journey takes approximately three hours, making Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman a viable option for travelers seeking a coastal escape without straying too far from the capital city.

Duncan O'Rourke, CEO of Accor's premium, midscale & economy division for the Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific, expressed his enthusiasm about the project. He highlighted the opportunity to introduce the renowned Novotel brand to a well-established yet developing location, bridging a gap in the market for "accessible, midscale properties that offer comfort, modernity and energising facilities.
