The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a first-of-its-kind cultural collaboration between the Arab world and South Korea. This initiative strengthens a relationship that spans over 15 years, aiming to foster deeper cultural exchange between the two regions.

H. E. Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF, highlighted the long-standing ties between the UAE and South Korea, citing successful collaborations like featuring the Korean Symphony Orchestra and Korean National Ballet at the Abu Dhabi Festival. She emphasized ADMAF's 2023 visit to Seoul, where they met cultural leaders and explored partnerships with prestigious institutions.

This MoU paves the way for significant cultural achievements, beginning with two groundbreaking exhibitions of contemporary art. The Seoul Museum of Art will host the first exhibition, showcasing Korean art in the Middle East for the first time at Manarat Al Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi. This will be followed by a reciprocal exhibition featuring over 50 Emirati artists presented at the Seoul Museum of Art.

"South Korean artists and cultural institutions started as partners to ADMAF, " Alkhamis-Kanoo said, "but now we consider them dear friends and companions on a journey of discovery and cultural dialogue. "

H. E. Oh Se-Hoon, Mayor of Seoul, echoed the sentiment, highlighting Abu Dhabi's commitment to developing its cultural scene. He commended the establishment of institutions like NYU Abu Dhabi and Louvre Abu Dhabi, underscoring the city's vision to become a global cultural hub.

"Today, as we formalize cooperation, " stated Mayor Oh, "we embark on a journey to establish our cities as global centers of culture and arts through meaningful exchanges and collaborations. "

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation has significantly contributed to the UAE's cultural landscape. Their initiatives, including designating Abu Dhabi as a UNESCO City of Music and partnering with renowned institutions, have solidified the capital's position as a global cultural player.
