Get Free 6 Months Of Netflix If You Buy A Google Pixelbook Or Samsung Chromebook
Google often ties promos with every purchase of some of its products. Sometimes it's Play Store credits. Sometimes it's 100 GB of free Drive storage. There's another promo this time, and it's perfect for those who like to binge-watch.
Free Netflix For Select Chromebooks
Google is offering six months of free Netflix for those who buy either a Google Pixelbook, a Samsung Chromebook Pro, or a Samsung Chromebook Plus. That's a pretty excellent deal for those looking to own one of these Chromebooks.
However, there are some caveats. For starters, the Netflix subscription is limited to a mid-tier plan, which means it only supports up to two screens at a time and offers HD videos on top of the ability to download some shows for offline viewing. This isn't the 4K plan that allows playback on up to four devices at a time.
A month's worth of Netflix usually costs $10.99, which brings the total value of Google's offer to $66. This is great for those planning to buy a Chromebook anyway. Fortunately, people who recently bought one of the machines above may also be eligible for the freebie. Head to Google's offers page using the Chromebook and make sure to redeem the offer before Dec. 31.
The offers don't stop there, however. Those who'll buy either of Samsung's flagship Chromebooks will also get a $20 Google Play credit, a separate promo that also expires at the end of December. Chromebook users are also eligible to get 100 GB of storage on Drive, as mentioned above. This, however, only lasts for two years.
Google Pixelbook
The Google Pixelbook was announced in Oct. 4 as Google's latest Chromebook that's able to run Android apps. It has received mostly positive reviews, with critics praising the hardware but regarding the software as pretty lacking, especially for a device that costs $1,000.
"While the operating system has grown a lot, it still doesn't have all the apps and services that a user might want, which might dissuade someone before they even get their hands on a Pixelbook," wrote one reviewer.
Samsung Chromebook Pro And Chromebook Plus
Meanwhile, reviews for the Chromebook Pro and Chromebook Plus have been significantly positive, with critics expressing high hopes for Samsung's budget Chromebook in particular.
"For the price, it's hard to name a competing product that offers comparable features and performance," wrote one reviewer.
